Join us for an herb walk on unceded Muwekma and Ramaytush Ohlone lands. Join NIN & Sankofa Roots for a trail hike, where we’ll identify wild herbs, foods and medicines commonly found on Ohlone land.
Learn how to identify, ethically forage, process/prepare and build a reciprocal relationship with various wild herbs and wildflowers.
We will kick off the day at 8am with a coffee carpool link-up at Redbay Coffee, followed by a 50-minute drive to Edgewood Nature Reserve. We will meet in the parking lot located at 10 Old Stage Coach Road, Redwood City, CA.
During our 3-mile hike, we will experience beautiful wildflowers along the entire trail and learn about the various plants and how to properly harvest them. We will begin and end our day with an intent building workshop and time to network with our nature community.
Please note that space is limited to 30 participants for maximum impact, so be sure to RSVP as soon as possible. This hike is a part of NIN's "WE OUTSIDE" series powered by SVCF.
Here are a few things to remember to bring for the hike:
Comfortable shoes
Appropriate clothing (layers suggested)
Good attitude
Water, water, water
Light snacks/lunch for our break period in the meadow
Small bag for wildflower harvesting
We can't wait to explore the beauty of Edgewood Nature Reserve with you and Jamani Ashe of Sankofa Roots and Redbay Coffee. See you on the trail!
